Spirulina is a microscopic bacterium that grows in water and functions like a plant by performing photosynthesis, hence its common names: microalgae or blue-green algae. It reproduces by division when growing conditions are optimal.
It’s a superfood, rich in plant-based protein, iron, vitamins, trace elements, and minerals.
It has many benefits: consuming it daily helps boost your overall energy levels. It will indeed help fill any gaps we might have in our daily diet. It will raise the iron levels in the blood. Thanks to its antioxidants and essential trace minerals, it also supports recovery in people who are physically active or engage in intense training.
In cosmetics, spirulina has nourishing, revitalizing, and anti-aging properties due to its high antioxidant content. It is suitable for daily use as part of a complete face and body care routine.
As part of the Spiruline-Valais project, an entire ecosystem has been created in greenhouses using water basins to provide the optimal growing conditions for spirulina. In partnership with Agroscope, tests are conducted to ensure that the water is of excellent quality and free of heavy metals and pesticides. Natural water from the Alps is heated by the sun in greenhouses. All crops are grown without animal products, pesticides, or herbicides. Spirulina contains no additives; it is non-irradiated and GMO-free.
Spiruline-Valais aims to cultivate a natural product free from contamination and pesticides in a carefully controlled environment, thereby offering spirulina of unparalleled nutritional quality, thanks in particular to a production method that respects the environment and the algae’s natural growth cycle. Spiruline-Valais is produced in an environmentally responsible manner in Saxon, with a commitment to delivering a high-quality finished product, ensuring strict control at every stage, from production to the final product.
